YOUTH FITNESS

 Valhalla wants to help support active families!  Getting kids involved in fitness early is essential to help combat childhood obesity, and to foster  healthy life-time habits.  However, when it comes to workout options for youth, care must be given as it is inappropriate to give a child a less intense version of an adult-type workout.  There are many things to consider. 

 Valhallahas set guidelines based upon

  1. The child’s age. 
  2. Recommendations made upon having an evaluation by our certified trainers.  The trainer will consider emotional and physical maturity, coordination, attention span, goals, and other safety concerns as well as the child’s goals for starting an exercise regimen.  

Youth at Valhalla must:

Fill out our Youth Form at the front desk

Purchase a Kids Fitness Punch or be a Member with the consent of a parent or guardian.

 Protocols for Youth Workouts atValhalla:

 All Youth will be assessed during a complimentary 1A with a trainer.  It would be ideal if the parent or guardian could attend this session with the child so that “everyone” is on the same page as to the guidelines that will be set for the child’s future workouts.

  1. The age of the child as well as the trainers assessment will determine if the child will need a $15 workout card and equipment review or a full $25 Program Design. In addition it will be determined what areas of the gym the child may work out in and if the parent must be with them.

 All guidelines will be set and followed always keeping in mind what is best for the child at his or her stage of development and what is not intrusive to our valued members of Valhalla.
